The Night Ministry and Intersectional Causes of Homelessness

Check out @NightMinistry’s Tweet.

A previous post highlighted work by Chicago Coalition of the Homeless. I wrote that Chicago is the “perfect storm of factors creating a highly visible homeless population.” The Night Ministry’s post is an excellent examination of these factors and systemic failures that keep people homeless and often jobless. We must all strive for societal and institutional change while continuing to help homeless people try to find housing. Once people have a stable, permanent home, they are able to take control of other aspects of their lives.
